We couldn’t be happier to have kicked off Halo Incubator with this first cohort of amazing companies. This exceptional group of founders introduced us to a diverse mix of ideas and business challenges in the beauty and e-retail spaces. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this group.
Jennifer Simons - DressMate
Dressmate is a peer-to-peer clothing rental marketplace designed for women with a mission to connect people, not clothing and landfills.
Dressmate was originally launched at Georgetown University when Jennifer was a student there. She is now preparing for larger nationwide launch across more college campuses.
sydney sherman - the Etho
The Etho is an online marketplace that connects sellers worldwide with consumers looking for ethically-sourced, outstanding products across categories. They make doing the right thing easy in hopes that the more ethically produced products people buy, the faster we will see extreme poverty disappear.
Candice Smith - Two to Tango
Two to Tango is a sexual wellness and education company rebranding sex education for adults by making it fun and accessible with hands-on sexperiences in a box. Tango, their first product, teaches couples intimate communication and consent with proprietary board games about sex and intimacy.
alice wang - ILYSM
Alice is a fashion designer in NYC and launched a new line of $99 knit sneakers under the brand name ILYSM (that’s chat lingo for “I Love You So Much”). ILYSM’s Tabi-inspired sneakers are made of sustainably sourced materials and proceeds from the sales are used as a non-conventional platform to launch various creative projects.
JASMINE GLASS - SPKTRM BEAUTY
SPKTRM Beauty is the first beauty company banning touch-ups and was recently featured in Allure. They are committed to showcasing honest depictions of their products, with zero skin retouching. Their products are paraben-free, cruelty-free, PETA certified, and inclusive of all skin shades for people of all backgrounds. SPKTRM aims to dismantle unrealistic ideals and empower real people by celebrating the genuine beauty of more diverse and relatable individuals in their imagery.
ZOE ROSENBERG - NEWCOMEN WORKWEAR
Zoe is a fashion designer with a couture background has moved into designing functional workwear with the toughest jobs in mind with the launch of Newcomen Workwear. She obsesses over the design and the products provide the highest functionality and movement women need to compete in the workforce, without sacrificing strength or style.
